Welcome to the forum. No one's laughing at you. We're laughing with you.;D Do you happen to know the Installer's Code (if it was never changed from the default, then it's 1500)? If so, then you can reprogram the Master Code by entering:.8 Installer's Code 21 XXXX (new Master Code) ## If you're not sure, then it's worth taking a shot with the default of 1500. If that doesn't work, the next question is: do you know if there was a second Master Code programmed? That can be used to reprogram the Master Code. Evidently – the Installer Code has been changed I bought the house new and was given a number to call to connect to a monitoring service.

We opt'ed to go with just an audible alarm for the time being – especially since we use our cell phones to communicate with others and don't have a landline phone in the house. I searched the InterNet for a User's Manual – found one – and used it to setup my initial codes for my wife and I with mine being the Master Code – system was still at the default of 1234.

I doubt that there is a second master programmed. I even unplugged the battery and then unplugged the electricity – hoping to do a reset – didn't work. Any other suggestions?

Yes, without the necessary code, the only option you have is to default the system, which will return all programming to the original (factory) values. When you read the article referenced by ni1d, pay close attention to the next-to-last paragraph. If Installer's Lockout was enabled, you'll hear ten rapid clicks after reapplying power (remember to disconnect both AC and battery). If you hear the dreaded clicks, you'll have to replace the board.

This isn't as ominous as it sounds, though; boards are pretty inexpensive, you'd have a chance to upgrade to a more modern system, and as things stand, you'll have to re-program, no matter what. Why don't you remove and reapply all power again and listen carefully for the clicks when you connect the AC. Let us know what happens, and we'll go from there. I had forgotten what all was programmed other that my code (Master) and my wifes code.

– book says that when you program a slot – it will over-ride what was there – so I made me a list for Slots 1-6 (I even included the one-time slot). After programming them – I tested codes in slot 5,4,3,2,1 in that order – everything worked fine till I got to slot 1. I tried the code that I put in slot 6 as the Master – It did not work – and then I tried it for the arm/disarm – it worked for the arm/disarm one time – hence one-time code.

I started off with # to get me to normal mode – Then I entered:.8 IC after getting the error beeps I hit # to take me back to normal mode. —————————- Also – I disconnected the battery and unplugged the system. When I plugged it back in – The Siren sounded for a few seconds and I heard about 10 quick clicks from the system board.
